Last week, two incidents on opposite sides of the country revealed the contrast of an armed and unarmed society. The first, was the atrocity in Colorado, where a psychopath was able to kill and wound over 70 defenseless moviegoers. The second, was in Florida, where an armed, 71 year-old man successfully defended the patrons of an internet café from two criminals that were 1/3 of his age.
In Aurora, Colorado, strict gun laws prevent law-abiding citizens from carrying firearms, and guns are specifically restricted inside theaters. In Florida, proper laws allow citizens to carry guns and to stand their ground. In Colorado, scores of innocents were killed and wounded by a man carrying a gun. In Florida, two criminals were shot by a man carrying a gun and arrested. Both shootings plainly show that the best way to combat gun crime is to allow good people to protect themselves.
The actions of the 71 year-old remind us that firearms are the great equalizer of men. In no other circumstance, would a senior citizen be able to defend himself from two people in the prime of their physical lives. While guns can be used to commit crimes, they can just as easily be used to protect the innocent from criminals. Had this 71 year-old been in attendance at the Colorado theatre, or had one of the movie patrons (which included active military members) been armed, the assailant, who reloaded his weapon and experienced a gun-jam, would surely not have inflicted the same damage. Had the criminal known that citizens in this theatre would be armed, and that he would potentially be wounded, killed or humiliated, he likely would never have attempted this infamous act.
It is vital to note that the Colorado gunman surrendered peaceably to police. He did not do so because the police represented the local government. He surrendered to the first armed person that confronted him. Both the Colorado and Florida shootings clearly reveal that the only people who can stop maniacs, and protect the innocent, are armed citizens. Law-abiding Americans do not deserve to have to wait for their government to protect them, as that help so often comes too late.
The liberal media’s attempt to manipulate the atrocity in Colorado to disarm Americans defies common sense. Gun laws do not stop outlaws from obtaining or carrying guns. They only serve to prevent law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves and others. The wicked will always attempt to harm the innocent. The only question is, will our government’s allow us to protect ourselves from the wicked?

We need a petition to arm Marylanders by” Restoring the Real 2rd Amendment!” We, need to push back against the kings of these lands, no government can protect my life, better than, I can!
We need to wake up and see what has happen in Colorado being disarmed, will someday happen here in our back yards, MARYLAND?
But, I tell you the truth if we were a community that was commonly known to be armed? Then a Nut or two would be scared to go walk into a room full of very armed men! No one is that crazy, it would be death to that man and he would know it.
How many crazy people walk into a police station with a gun? None, because that would be sudden and that is common understand even to wacko’s.
Hey, if you are really a Marylander? Then you surely know the threats, coming from the “intercity?”
One day soon the Law abiding people of Maryland will have to deal with the unlawful people, who seek to rob from the working class, because of the breaking down economy that is already started.
There No question about will it happen! The question is when it will happen?
If, we the people don’t, do something now, to protect our lives from this soon threat to come, then just think about the News reports that will report the stories of horrible invasion of unthinkable acts of hanis crimes committed against us which will put all of our lives at, risk.

16 Trillion And Rising………. That’s $24 Million a day spent for the next 2000 years, how are we to pay that kind of debt off?
When the Economic Collapse does happen? Which it looks very likely that it will!
Then, the ball, will begin to roll, that will start a domino effect, which will crush down into all the government programs, like Social Services?
Programs that poor people depend on and when the checks stop rolling in, there is going to be all type of lawlessness that will take all Marylanders by storm. We need to restore the 2rd Amendment now!
Do, you think the government will protect us, you know that answer to this question, already? When, this Economic Collapse happens, our government is going stand just there and watch just like Hurricane Katrina.
We need the days of old to be restored back to Our Country’s Constitution of American Again, and then there we will have peace.

Excellent points, especially #4! GW made the same mistake that his dad did. Future presidents will need to take more time to examine the writings of potential nominees. Thanks for a good summary!
